Steel Tape Removal Tool Instruction Sheet:
Step 1 -Cut the optical cable with a steel cutter e.g. the CCS 22
Step 2 -Remove the jacket with a stripper, e.g. the tri hole fiber optic stripper FO-103-T-250-J
Step 3 -Cut the Kevlar yarns to the specified length with a Kevlar cutter, e.g. the KS-1
Step 4 -Release the screws from the removal tool and insert the cable into the hole in the disc with the magnet (thicker disc) and tighten the screws with hand force. The armored steel tape should be fixed.
Step 5 -Make 3 turns with the small (right) disc in the reverse direction.
Step 6 -Cut the steel tape at the position where it is widened and remove the armoring. Use a small steel cutter with fine jaws.
Step 7 -Strip (1) the buffered coating 900µm with a dedicated optical fiber stripper.
Strip (2) the coating from 250 µm to 125 µm. Then the fiber should be cleaned and cleaved before being connectorised. The tri hole stripper FO-103-T-250-J can be used to prepare the fiber.
